7 Romantic Restaurants in Lima: An Unforgettable Date Night

Troppo has become one of my favorite restaurants in Lima, period end of story, but it’s also particularly perfect for a date night. Aside from serving some of the best Italian food I’ve ever had—including in Italy—Troppo just has a cool vibe.

Located in a renovated colonial home, it features a moody, dark bar, candlelit tables at night, and an intimate atmosphere without being overly formal.

It’s elegant, comfortable, and effortlessly romantic.

2. Siete (Barranco)

Also housed in a beautifully restored historic home, Siete balances sophistication with warmth and an innovative but approachable menu.

It can definitely get a little noisy, but somehow that just encourages you to lean in a little closer.

The intimate atmosphere, thoughtful cocktails, and exceptional food make it one of the best romantic restaurants in Lima for couples who want something special without feeling stuffy.

3. Rocco (Miraflores)

Rocco strikes that perfect balance between lively and intimate.

The dim lighting, stylish interiors, and inviting atmosphere make it an excellent choice for date night. 

Sit at the bar or at a table, either way it feels special and effortlessly cool—the kind of place where you can settle in, share a few perfect dishes, and lose track of time.

4. Rosa Náutica (Miraflores)

Rosa Náutica doesn’t exactly fit my usual “dark and moody” definition of romance.

And yet, I would absolutely include it.

Perched over the Pacific Ocean at the end of Miraflores’ iconic pier, it offers a completely different kind of romantic atmosphere. Particularly at night, with the waves crashing beneath you and the lights of the coastline dazzling in the distance, the setting creates something undeniably magical.

Sometimes romance is candlelight.

Sometimes it’s the ocean.

5. Shi-Nuá (San Isidro)

Shi-Nuá brings a little drama to date night—in the best possible way.

The moody interiors, low lighting, and elevated take on Chinese-Peruvian cuisine make it one of Lima’s sexiest dining rooms. It’s ideal for couples looking for something a little unexpected.

6. Bodega Dasso (San Isidro)

Bodega Dasso may not immediately appear on every list of romantic restaurants in Lima, but it absolutely deserves a spot on ours.

If you go, request seating in the lounge area.

The low lighting, plush couch seating, and cozy atmosphere create the perfect setting to settle in, stay close and stay awhile. Add phenomenal food to the mix, and you have all the ingredients for a memorable date night.

It’s romantic without trying too hard—which may be the most romantic thing of all.

7. Mayta (San Isidro)

As one of the World’s Top Fifty Restaurants, Mayta brings something different to the conversation: romance for serious food lovers.

One of Lima’s most celebrated restaurants, Mayta manages to be both polished and inviting. The atmosphere is elegant without feeling pretentious, allowing the food to remain the star of the evening.

I’ve been fortunate enough to dine there, and there’s something undeniably magical about sharing a meal that surprises and delights you course after course. If part of falling in love is discovering new things together, then  Mayta absolutely belongs on this list.

It may not be the most intimate restaurant in Lima, but it checks the foodie box in spectacular fashion—and sometimes that’s exactly the kind of romance you’re looking for.

After Dinner: Besos Frances (Parque del Amor)

Yes, Lima has incredible restaurants that are perfect for anniversaries, birthdays, and those rare nights when you have the chance to truly linger over dinner. But some of the best moments with someone special can be much simpler.

A common favorite date is picking up a crepe from Besos Frances near Parque del Amor (Love Park).

There’s something undeniably romantic about sharing dessert, watching the Pacific stretch out before you, and slowing down enough to enjoy each other’s company with one of Lima’s most iconic symbols of love right in front of you.

• Reserve ahead, especially for Friday and Saturday evenings. Lima’s most popular restaurants often book up several days in advance.
• Aim for sunset if you’re dining at Rosa Náutica or planning to walk along the Miraflores cliffs afterward.
• Dress smart casual. While jackets aren’t usually required, upscale restaurants in Lima tend to have a polished atmosphere.
• Don’t rush dinner. Dining in Lima is meant to be enjoyed slowly, and lingering over dessert or cocktails is part of the experience.
• Consider the neighborhood. Miraflores, Barranco, and San Isidro are all safe, walkable areas with plenty of bars, parks, and waterfront viewpoints to extend your date night.
